This past weekend we spent some much needed vacation time in Utah! We started out by heading up to SLC to see Jeneil and Aaron. We kicked it all off with some pimpin burgers and cheese filled peppers! If you've never had a cheese filled pepper, make some! We spent the evening talking and having a good time while Des spent majority of that time rubbing Jeneil's pregnant belly. Jeneil was pressured over and over again by Des to go jogging, do jumping jacks, eat spicy Mexican food, ANYTHING to make her pop while we were there. Some would say Des is a little baby crazy. Saturday morning we all woke up and headed to a little place at the edge of liberty park called The Park Cafe. This place is our new favorite stop to get breakfast and it blows Eggs In The City away!
After saying bye to Jeneil and Aaron, we headed to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple for the sealing of Arden and Torie. This is one of the newest temples in the church and is absolutely beautiful. I think I was most impressed by the temples grounds. The temple sits high on a hill overlooking the whole valley with lots of grass and flowers decorating the grounds. We were blessed to be able to attend the sealing and the spirit was so strong as they were sealed for time and all eternity. After the sealing, we took pictures, headed to Provo for some Noodles & Company, and then checked into our hotel. Dinner and the reception were at the Skyroom inside the Wilk center at BYU. The food was great and the reception was a blast. It was great to see all the old roomies and spend time with them and the bride and groom. After the reception, we headed over to Christian and Rach's house. We went to the mall and hit Red Robin for some food and drinks. Christian and I talked about law school while Rachel and Des talked about babies, and nothing else but babies! After that, we went to their house to play games, one was called Guillotine and the other was the dice game from Pirates of the Caribbean's movie. These games were totally cool! It's sad to see Christian and Rachel leave since they are headed off to Cincinnati for Law School in July. But luckily, planes fly from Vegas to Cincinnati!!!
On the way back, we stopped in Beaver to see grandma Jackie's grave. It has been years since I have stopped there to see grandma. Her headstone and the surrounding area looks great! It was so nice to see all of the flowers that had been placed there for Mother's Day.
Well that is it for now, our next vacation.....camping in Zion's. So stay tuned......
